DENVER – Oct. 5, 2023: The Colorado Commission on Higher Education is soliciting proposals for grants designed to expand the use of open educational resources (OER) across public postsecondary institutions in the state. The OER grant program is in its sixth year and will award $1 million this grant cycle to award at least $500,000 toward Zero Textbook Cost degree initiatives.
DENVER – Sept. 7, 2023: The Colorado Department of Higher Education recently awarded more than $400,000 in technical assistance grants to 11 institutions of higher education. Institutions applied to receive a Colorado Credential Pathways Technical Assistance Grant to support the development of high-quality stackable credential pathways leading to high-value occupations.
DENVER – Aug. 4, 2023: The Colorado Department of Higher Education (“CDHE”) is providing notice of a cybersecurity incident that may involve the personal information of certain individuals. CDHE is providing information about the measures it has taken in response to the incident, and steps impacted individuals may take to protect themselves against possible misuse of information.
What Happened?
DENVER – June 27, 2023: An advisory committee wants Colorado to be a model for serving students with disabilities in higher education. Improving Higher Education for Students with a Disability (House Bill 22-1255) created an advisory committee tasked with providing recommendations to state colleges, universities and the general assembly. The 15-member committee composed of experts in disability services in higher education and related agencies was appointed by Executive Director, Dr. Angie Paccione.
DENVER – June 8, 2023: The Colorado Department of Higher Education expanded its social determinants of student success initiative by adding seven new designations to its list of Hunger Free and Healthy Minds campuses.
The state is now one step closer to having all 31 public institutions of higher education earn the designations. Currently, 25 institutions have the Healthy Minds designation and 26 have the Hunger Free designation.

The statewide campaign celebrates the importance of higher education and encourages Colorado students to reach higher—whether they attend a university, community college, private occupational school, or serve as an apprentice or in the military.
On Decision Day, Coloradans are encouraged to wear apparel from their alma mater, favorite school, or future program to rally in support of students on their path to postsecondary success.
